Preventive CareWe strongly recommend annual examinations and frequently recommend blood tests to monitor your pet’s health. Heartworm testing, fecal exams and annual preventative de-worming are strongly encouraged. Discovering a problem before clinical signs develop is a big step in preserving the health of our patients. Vaccinations are an important part of this care. Our staff members are trained in nutrition for healthy and sick animals. A complete medical assessment begins with a thorough physical examination whereby your pet’s eyes, ears, skin, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and skeletal system are examined for any abnormalities. Blood tests can be performed as necessary to assess the proper functioning of your pet’s kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system including the thyroid gland and adrenal glands. Urine tests can detect similar problems. Depending on your pet’s condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests such as radiography (X-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound or surgery. |
